Week 2 - Day 0

Let’s GOO!!

Current Stats: 122.8 lbs; Body Fat Weight: 26.4%

I could NOT wait for this day. Not only is seeing the new plan exciting, but I was interested in seeing what the AI Life Coach provided next. I was still so surprised with how Week 1 went, that I just had a good feeling about this Week 2.

As always, I talk to the AI as if it’s my buddy and I was actually rewarded for the first time with it. I got emojis! I had, honestly, never seen that sort of response before.

AI Life Coach Encouraging Me Along

In case the image doesn’t load or has any issues, the prompt I used was

AI Prompt -> Hey my AI Life Coach! I survived Week 1! It is now Week 2, what exercises do you want me to do?

I honestly laughed out loud when I saw how the response started. It seemed so happy that I had completed week 1 and was ready to jump right into stepping up the workload.

The layout of the exercises were a bit different this week. It actually included the warm-ups and cool-downs for each day rather than me needing to prompt for that information. Further, it gave more information on each exercise and telling me what to focus on and ensure I do.

For example, on Day 1, it wanted me to do Plank with Shoulder Taps. Unlike in Week 1, it also included “Keep your hips stable while tapping each shoulder”. It’s such a little thing, but it’s important. When doing exercises, people are always going to screw something up. Maybe they won’t focus on the right muscle, maybe they will forget to breath, or (as in the case above) maybe they will move their hips when they aren’t supposed to.

I really thought that was a nice touch to the response. It gave it a more realistic, almost human, approach to things. I’ve definitely had actual trainers and coaches tell me these little tidbits before.

It also gave 3 progression goals to work towards. It said to

  • Aim to lift slightly heavier weights compared to Week 1, focusing on good form

  • Increase the intensity of your cardio and core work

  • Focus on listening to your body during recovery sessions

This is another thing that wasn’t done for Week 1. Week 1 was mainly getting started and figuring things out. This week, I got goals, which was awesome.

Finally, it signed off with the best response I’ve ever seen from AI thus far.

AI Life Coach Believes in Me!

I’m not going to lie, this gave me such a huge confidence boost. Now, I know this is AI. I know it literally has no idea what I’m doing, whether I’m lying or not, or even what’s really going on. However, those 3 little sentences plus the flex emoji did more to my confidence boost than most of the trainers I’ve ever been to.

It actually made me think it cared.

On to meals before I get too sentimental over a machine. After getting the exercises for the week, I then asked about meals.

AI Prompt -> That’s awesome, thank you so much. What do you recommend for meals for these 7 days?

That is literally what I wrote, word for word. I was feeling very happy with it’s response about the exercises and I wanted to make it keep being nice.

I was worried it would do what it did during Week 1 where it only provided one or two meal examples for each time period. I was very happy when that didn’t occur. I got 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 7 dinners. There was some overlap from Week 1, but not as much as one would expect. And even those that overlapped were not a one-to-one same meal. For example, in Week 1 it recommended oatmeal with almond butter and bananas. In Week 2 it recommended oatmeal with almonds and cinnamon. Little differences, but they matter

As always, after I got this, I had to go shopping. Luckily I still had a lot of ingredients leftover from Week 1 so I just needed some essentials like salmon and spinach. This drastically lowered my bill from $145 to about $70.

Now, please remember that I am only doing this for one person. If anyone decides to follow this blog and make the things I’m making, then of course those prices would change depending on serving sizes and shopping locations. That said, for a week’s worth of food, $70 isn’t too bad, all things considering. I’ve definitely paid a lot more for a lot less.
