Week 2 - Day 1

New Week Time

Yesterday, we did our queries for the new week, got our exercises in place, got our meals planned, now it’s time to execute. First up, full body workout day.

I mentioned last week that I had forgotten to tell the AI Life Coach that I had a full workout room. That was my bad, didn’t even think about it until I noticed some weird language in the exercises. I had fixed that, adding it to it’s memory bank, and this week shows.

The exercises I got today included my equipment such as dumbbells and my Bowflex machine for lat pulldowns. Now, don’t get me wrong, I also enjoy body weight exercises as much as the next person, but I think you’re able to work a wider range of muscles with equipment. I was definitely feeling this workout in my back and shoulders by mid-day

This new week also included actual warm-up routines such as 10 minutes on a treadmill or stationary bike. I did those, but I also did the dynamic stretches that the AI Life Coach recommended during Week 1. They got the blood pumping and the muscles warmed up.

I also still followed the fully body post-workout stretches. Once again, it recommended actual stretches, but I already had these planned out. The one’s from last week covered all the muscle groups (and then some) anyways, so I was just doing a of bit extra work.

Mealtime

Breakfast

During my shopping day yesterday, I decided to try some of this turkey sausage that it had recommended. Just like the turkey burgers, there was always this dislike of ground turkey in my house, so this was another thing I’ve never tried. I was surprised at how good it was though! A little drier than pork sausage, but the flavor was there.

With the turkey sausage, we had our normal eggs and vegetables. You can’t honestly go wrong with that combination in the morning. It just makes you feel fuller.

Morning Snack

I had to forgo my usual rice cake today, much to my disappointment, and instead had a banana. I regretted my decision instantly. It’s not that I don’t like bananas, they are one of my favorite fruits. It’s just that those dang rice cakes are so good.

Either way, I started the day out with 3 almost too ripe bananas, and I had to get them used up.

Lunch

Lunch today was a simple salad with some lunch meat turkey. Today was “cleaning the fridge out” day apparently because my lettuce was also on the verge of going bad. I wanted to get things used up instead of throw the food away.

Evening Snack

Another snack and another banana. I’ve got one left and it’s going tomorrow

Dinner

So for dinner, I decided to make some baked salmon with broccoli and quinoa. I love a good salmon and I was excited to see what the AI chatbot gave as a recipe. It went light on the herbs, which was good, but still gave enough to give it something that salmon flavor. Not that the actual salmon didn’t shine through! Is the word “enhanced” correct?

The broccoli was good. Steamed broccoli is really the only way I’ll eat broccoli. Add some herbs and spices on it and the stuff is delicious.

Quinoa. Ah, quinoa. I’m still learning how to cook you. If you don’t recall, the first time I made quinoa, it tripled in size. So, 1 cup dry makes 3 cups cooked. I didn’t want 3 cups of quinoa and the stuff doesn’t taste good warmed up, so I tried to lower the size I cooked. Unfortunately, I forgot to lower the time it was expected to be done and it got…let’s just say overly done. Inedible if you will.

What a disappointment I am.

I will figure this out one day. I’m sure of it.
